Prohibition signs

The Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 requires that employers must display prohibition signs in the workplace. The HSE website states that “making the workplace safe includes providing instructions to encourage people to work safely and responsibly”.

Employers are obliged to display clear signs to inform of prohibited behaviour and ensure that risks are minimised, safety procedures are followed and ensure a safer working environment. These signs communicate important instructions to workers and should be placed in highly visible locations for maximum impact.

Our prohibition signs give clear instructions to workers eg. no smoking, no eating or drinking, no access to certain areas, machine operating instructions and driving restrictions.

Prohibition signs are required to have a red circle with a diagonal line through it (running from top left to bottom right), surrounding a black pictogram used to indicate what is not permitted.

Available in a range of sizes and materials.  If you cannot find the sign you are looking for please let us know and we will be happy to help.
